March is FemTech Month here at techSPARK and we have decided to highlight five FemTech startups based in the South West to look out for in 2025. As FemTech is a growing sector, it is no surprise to see various startups and specialisms continuously cropping up in the industry from well-being apps to sustainable period products.
The five startups we have chosen to feature are Flow the with Seasons, PEEQUAL, Grace & Green, Emm and WAVESIX. These are a selection of companies doing great work in the space, rather than an exhaustive list, and you can learn more about other companies that are supporting women’s health here.
Flow with the Seasons

Flow with the Seasons is a menstrual journalling app which helps women to sync with their cycle and Live Hormoniously. The company is on a mission to help women harness the power of their hormones to improve their physical and mental health.
Jade Wakes’ journey began in 2020 when she started journalling alongside her menstrual cycle and uncovered insights into her mood, behaviour and energy patterns. She is now on a mission to offer an app that allows women to analyse their custom data and journal without the distraction of any fertility focused information.
If you would like to try the app for yourself, you can sign up for a beta version on their website and secure early access via their website.

PEEQUAL
PEEQUAL is the UK’s first squat-and-go women’s urinal. The PEEQUAL team is on a mission to pioneer “pee-quality” for women, helping them reclaim their time while breaking the taboo around female urination.
The urinal was founded by Hazel McShane and Amber Probyn. Hazel, the team’s “resident scientist,” holds a Master’s degree in Physics & Innovation and leads strategy and investment. Amber, who also has a Master’s degree in Anthropology & Innovation, previously worked as a Design Consultant for IKEA and Sony. She now leads design and R&D at PEEQUAL.
If you are interested in joining the PEEQUAL team, they are currently looking for festival crew and volunteers to support the team at various UK festivals this summer. You can see more information about the roles and how to apply here.

Grace & Green

Grace & Green offer sustainable period products that are kind to women’s bodies and the environment. They have created zero waste reusable tampons, pads and liners that are made with organic materials such as bamboo.
Having spent a decade in the water & sanitation industry, Grace & Green’s founder Frances Lucraft experienced first-hand the negative impact period products were having on the water systems and she knew something had to change. Frances spent three years focused on research and product development, before launching Grace & Green.
If you head over to their website you can see what types of products they offer and read more about the three pillars behind their mission statement.

WAVESIX

WAVESIX is an innovative lifestyle, health and well-being tracking app designed to monitor six vital categories: sleep, nutrition, movement, relationships, relaxation and self.
Julia Marshall-Wessendorf conceived the idea after her 2011 Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis when she struggled to find a digital tool that tracked multiple aspects of her well-being. More than 12 years later, she is symptom-free and no longer requires medication, inspiring her to create WAVESIX to help others take control of their health.
If you head over to the WAVESIX website, you can learn more about Julia’s journey and how the app can help people to track different aspects of their well-being.
