After the success of Engine Shed‘s ‘Investor-in-Residence’ scheme in 2017, the Bristol-based tech hub has announced several new dates in which local companies can seek advice for free.

The service is aimed at both individuals and organisations looking for investment advice, as well as those seeking their own funding, and will see investors including Deepbridge Capital, Accelerated Digital Ventures (ADV), Episode 1, Ignite and Bristol and Bath Regional Capital (BBRC) stationed in Engine Shed’s lounge on scheduled days across January, February and March 2018.

Anyone in the Bristol-city region is free to book an appointment through the Engine Shed website, with the ability to select a preference for an investor built in.

Funding the future

Simon Tutton (pictured left) of Deepbridge Capital, who will be in attendance on 15 January, hopes to provide practical advice as well as potentially finding tech and life sciences innovation that meets his investment criteria to join Deepbridge’s portfolio of funded companies.

David Fogel of ADV will be in attendance on 17 January as part of the company’s mission to build a platform that invests in 200 tech companies every year. ADV raised £150m at the end of 2017 to start investing across the UK and has since invested in over 30 companies from pre-seed through to growth stage.

Ed Rowberry of BBRC, which deals with social enterprise investments, will be able to help entrepreneurs who are looking to do good with their ventures. BBRC is a community-minded investment company working with local people, companies and institutions in the West of England to promote positive regional change.

Episode 1 is one of the top early stage investors in London, investing in and actively supporting best-in-class B2B software-driven companies on the journey from seed to Series A and beyond. Episode 1 will be at Engine Shed on 28 February and then the fourth Wednesday of the month going forward.
